The Maryland World Class Consortia holds regular meetings each quarter for members, potential members, supporters, and guests. Each meeting is a half-day "mini-conference" that provide new developments among Consortia members, examples of World Class tools in action, and networking with active practitioners.
Speakers for this meeting:
Drew Locher of Change Management Associates and James Earley, Engineering Manager for W. L. Gore & Associates, will facilitate their presentation, Unleashing the Power of 3P: The Key to Breakthrough Results.
Drew and James will describe 3P concepts, and provide a detailed case study. An extended Q&A session will provide attendees a chance to explore any of the content in more depth.
What is 3P?
People are recognizing the power of 3P, or Product and Process Planning, to improve the design of products and processes. The approach is highly adaptable, and has been applied in healthcare to redesign units and even entire hospitals.
There are several techniques that form the basis of the methodology, including seven-ways, biomimicry, and rapid learning cycles through simulation, to name a few. The techniques are aimed at stimulating the creative process in new and powerful ways.
Rapid learning cycles, for instance, emphasizes fast and cheap learning cycles through prototyping, mock-ups and simulation. This creates greater opportunities to innovate over simply using traditional 2D/3D models and drawings.
Come learn a powerful tool that can be applied to a wide range of improvement needs...including those in your business!
